Category: FictionPolice are investigating after a man was stabbed multiple times while walking in Grafton late Wednesday night.
The victim, a 24-year-old Grafton man, was walking on Humboldt Avenue at about 9:30 p.m., when he got into an argument with several people, police said.
The man was stabbed in the stomach, chest, hands, and left arm. Medics took him to the hospital for treatment, according to police.
The assailant is described as a Hispanic male who is 25 to 35 years old and weighs about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, black boots, and no pants, police said.Poetry and the Poem Blogging Exhibition, November 19
The Poetry and the Poem Blogging Exhibition, which takes place at the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) in Wimpole Hall, Warwickshire, is a photographic poetry blog that will take you into the heart of the poem’s dark and mysterious background.
Created by the British Library, the exhibition features 30 bloggers and artistes in the English World, Poetry Hub and the Poem for Peace consortium, who will have created their personal poem as part of the exhibition.
Once completed, the poems will also be made available to the public at the British Library website, where a few hundred poems will be collated into a single edition.
The poet Jennifer Tiven will be playing a key role in the making of the exhibition, as she investigates ways of capturing the physicality of poetry, its hybrid nature, and presents how poets play with the notion of poetry as a semiotic act – a literary artifice.
Kate Walby, director of MERL and curator of the exhibition, says: “Poems can appear to be spontaneous things that emerge out of the ether and yet they have an enormous amount of planning behind them. The exhibition looks at how poetry comes into being and at the imagery that lies behind the poetic language.
